AM SORRY: The reason why left Pittsburgh Steelers

George Pickens Explains How He Learned About Matt Canada’s Firing

When the Pittsburgh Steelers faced the Cleveland Browns in Week 11, they had a perfect opportunity to establish themselves in the AFC North.

Because Deshaun Watson was ruled out for the rest of the 2023 NFL season, the Browns were forced to start rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

The Steelers had every potential to shut down their opponent and win another game with Thompson-Robinson at the helm.

However, Pittsburgh’s offensive struggled to get much going against Cleveland’s tenacious defense, and they were defeated 13-10.

Fans have been frustrated by the Steelers’ offensive difficulties in recent years, and the team appears to have had enough, letting go of former offensive coordinator Matt Canada

Canada’s sacking came as a surprise considering that head coach Mike Tomlin had defended him throughout the season, but the word didn’t reach George Pickens until the next day, according to Brian Batko of the Post-Gazette Sports.

Pickens said that he rarely uses his phone or social media, so when the news broke on Tuesday, he was completely ignorant.

The young wideout claimed he didn’t discover receiver Canada was fired until the next day, when he arrived at the facility and the team informed him.

Pickens didn’t have a strong reaction to Canada’s dismissal, indicating that he was not a fan of him or his idea.

However, the change in offensive coordinators may mean that Pickens will be featured more in the offense, which makes sense given that he is the team’s most talented pass-catcher.
