“Coming out of the game last week, Tate obviously had the big hit there in the fourth quarter. We went over, was able to go through all of our sideline evaluations and he was able to pass that to be able to go back in the game for the last play that we had there offensively,” Norvell said on Thursday. “Then he came in Sunday, had a few symptoms of things and we started our process then and we worked through it throughout the course of the week. He’s been able to practice throughout the week in limited spots but that’s gonna be something that’s gonna go up to game day and we’ll continue on with our process of evaluation and see where it goes from there.”
Norvell went on to disclose that true freshman Brock Glenn has taken the majority of live reps in practice. Rodemaker has done most of his work in individual drills with redshirt freshman AJ Duffy also getting some reps.
“We’ve allowed really all of those guys to be able to get work. Tate has gotten some work, a lot more individual, some in team,” Norvell said. “Brock has gotten the bulk of it, especially as we’ve gone through more live situations that we’ve implemented but Tate’s been there. He’s been in all the meetings, Like I said, he’s gotten some work out there in practice and AJ Duffy has also gotten some reps with the different units.”
The Seminoles won’t switch up their offense a ton if Glenn is forced to start for the first time in his college career against Louisville. Norvell has been happy with the way that he’s prepared while noting that Glenn was ready to go when he stepped in against the Gators.
“Our guys, the game plan doesn’t have to change a whole lot I think when you see Brock and his skill set that he brings,” Norvell said. “We’re all preparing to be able to play and it’s the same thing that we faced a week ago going and playing our last regular season game. He knew that he was going to be one play away and ultimately he had to go in and be ready for that situation and he was.”
“We’ve approached it the same way, we know the process we have to go through and there’s certain bench marks we’ll go through and see as we lead up to game time and see where it’s at. All of those guys are ready and they’re prepared if their number gets called,” Norvell continued.
Florida State and Louisville are scheduled to kick off at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2. The contest will be televised on ABC.
