Browns elevate Joe Flacco and AJ Green III to active roster
We have elevated QB Joe Flacco and CB IIA.J. GreenI to the active roster
Flacco is set to make his first start for the Browns with rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson in concussion protocol following a hit in last week’s loss to Denver.
Flacco, in his 16th NFL season, has appeared in 183 games with 180 starts in stints with the Ravens (2008-18), Broncos (2019) and Jets (2020-22). He has a 99-81 record as a starter, and led the Ravens to a victory in Super Bowl XLVII, where he was named the Super Bowl MVP.
Flacco signed to the Browns’ practice squad on Nov. 20 and will wear No. 15.
With cornerback Denzel Ward (shoulder) ruled out for Sunday’s game, the Browns also elevated A.J. Green III from the practice squad.
Green is in his third NFL season out of Oklahoma State. He signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2020, and has appeared in 33 games with two starts. Green has recorded 26 career tackles and two interceptions.
He has appeared in two games this season for Cleveland and will wear No. 38.
Kickoff between the mBrowns and Ras is set for 4:25 p.m. EST on Sunday, December 3.
