REPORT; Auburn Tigers key player has now enter transfer portal

Auburn’s reserve defensive lineman is the sixth athlete to enter the transfer portal.

Another Auburn defensive lineman has decided to transfer during the post-spring transfer period.

On Thursday evening, Tobechi Okoli, a third-year sophomore, declared on Twitter that he had joined the transfer portal. Okoli will be eligible for three more years.

After their first spring on the Plains, Auburn’s 12 early transfer picks were evaluated.

The 6-foot-5, 275-pounder is the second defensive lineman to leave the team since spring workouts ended, and the sixth overall transfer this spring. He joins fellow defensive end Jeffrey M’ba (Purdue), a pair of backup linebackers in Desmond Tisdol (Florida Atlantic), Kamerish Brown (UT-Chattanooga), and Powell Gordon, and wide receiver Tar’Varish Dawson Jr. (Cincinnati) in the Tigers’ spring roster.

Okoli, a former three-star recruit in the 2021 class, played in just one game in his two seasons at Auburn. As a true freshman in 2021, he made his debut against Alabama State but did not register a stat.
