The Baltimore Ravens have designated edge rookie rusher, Malik Hamm, for a return from Injured Reserve (IR).
Hamm, who has been nursing an ankle injury, was placed on IR ahead of the first week of the season.
On Monday, the Ravens announced his potential return, thus initiating a crucial three-week window for the rookie to get back into the swing of things and, hopefully, return to the active roster.
Over the course of the next 21 days, Hamm will have the opportunity to reintegrate himself into the practice regime, aiming to regain his match fitness and he could be activate within their playing squad for the remainder of the regular season.
Hamm, who was left out of the draft this year, chose to sign with the Ravens after an impressive performance at Lafayette, where he secured a striking 32 sacks.
Adding to his repertoire, during the preseason, Hamm managed to secure four tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble.
Hamm was named the Patriot League Freshman of the Year in 2018 and the Patriot League Defensive Player of the year twice in 2019 and 2022.
The Ravens have been facing an uphill battle with injuries, particularly within their defensive line.
They lost David Ojabo for the entire season. Another vital player, Tyus Bowser, has been sidelined with a knee injury.
