LATEST NEWS: Adam Reynolds’ admission about coaching the Brisbane after

Adam Reynolds has stated his desire to join the coaching staff of the Brisbane Broncos following his retirement from the NRL at the end of the 2025 season. The 33-year-old halfback, who is out of contract at the end of 2024, is expected to sign a one-year extension that will take him to what he believes will be his final season in 2025.

According to reports, Reynolds will take a significant pay cut in his next contract to allow the Broncos to upgrade the contracts of young guns Reece Walsh and Ezra Mam. “It’s being worked on in the background,” Reynolds said on Friday at pre-season training, where he weighed 80kg – five kilograms less than the weight he wore in the grand final.

I still believe I have more to offer. My body is in good shape. I believe I am playing good enough football to return. I’m enjoying the club and hanging out with the guys. It’s quite simple.”

Reynolds already serves as an assistant coach for the Broncos due to his extensive experience, and he readily shares his knowledge with players like Walsh and Mam. However, he revealed for the first time on Friday that when he retires from playing, he plans to become an official coach.

I’m eager to go down that road. “I enjoy working with young guys,” he said. “I came from a system where there were a lot of older players, so you didn’t have to do much outside of your job at Souths.”

“It’s been refreshing for me to come here and teach the younger guys. I believe it also helps you better understand your own role. You go over the procedures and explain them to the younger guys, slowing it down to make sure they understand what you’re trying to accomplish. I enjoy providing feedback and watching them put it into action.”
