CONFIRMED: Philadelphia Eagles are bringing him back

Former Alabama prep standout returns to the Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have activated wide receiver Quez Watkins from injured reserve, the NFL franchise announced on Saturday.

Watkins, a former Athens High School standout, had missed the previous five games due to a hamstring ailment, which had also kept him out of the third and fourth games of the season.

Jets defensive end Quinnen Williams is concerned about Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, and Panthers quarterback Bryce Young has a history of poor passing performance.
Former Alabama prep standout receives 1,000 yards for the Texans.

Watkins had four receptions for 21 yards in three games in 2023 after having 76 grabs for 1,001 yards and four touchdowns for Philadelphia in 2021 and 2022.

After the wide receiver was placed on injured reserve, the Eagles signed Julio Jones from Foley, another former Alabama high school great. In four games, the Alabama alumnus has four receptions for 16 yards and one touchdown.

The Philadelphia Eagles take on the Buffalo Bills at 3:25 p.m. CST on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Kansas City Chiefs will also have two players with Alabama football ancestors available on Sunday who were ineligible prior to Saturday. The Chiefs promoted running back La’Mical Perine (Theodore) and wide receiver Montrell Washington (Samford) from their practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas at 3:25 p.m.

This season, Washington has appeared in four games while Perine has appeared in one for the Chiefs.

Chris Hubbard, an offensive lineman with the Tennessee Titans, was placed on injured reserve on Saturday. This season, the former UAB standout started nine of the Titans’ ten games as right tackle. However, a biceps injury has forced the 10-year veteran to retire.
