NEWS FLASH: Cleveland Browns Make’s A Public Announcement

Following the 31-27 victory over Jacksonville, Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski announced that Joe Flacco would be the starting quarterback moving forward, and he’ll lead them in a tight race with the Steelers for an AFC Wild Card spot down the stretch of the regular season.

Flacco, 38, joined the Browns last month after Deshaun Watson was diagnosed with a season-ending injury. He began on the practice squad before being promoted to the starting lineup two weeks later. Flacco threw for 254 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in his first game action in over a year in a loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

This week, Flacco and the Browns recovered. This week, he threw for 311 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception against the Jaguars, which Cleveland won 31-27.

The Browns are now the fifth seed in the AFC Playoff picture, one spot ahead of the Steelers in sixth place. The season series between these two AFC North rivals is tied at 1-1.
