Pearson had a strong start to the season, ranking among the club’s top scorers before fading as the season progressed. He appeared in just 14 games for the Vancouver Canucks in 2022-23, and the hope was that he could enjoy a full season of health and be traded to a contending team at the trade deadline. When he was injured, he was playing in his 27th consecutive game for the Canadiens.

We’ll wait for an official update on the timeline for his return. The Canadiens play again on Sunday against the Nashville Predators, and while Michael Pezzetta is on the roster to fill a spot, a call-up from Laval could be on the way soon.
