BREAKING NEWS: they have also been fired due to impertinent fraction

The axe fell on the struggling NRL club Wests Tigers on Tuesday, removing the entire board.

Wests Tigers chair Lee Hagipantelis and the entire board have been voted out, and chief executive Justin Pascoe has reportedly resigned.

After back-to-back wooden spoons and a rash of coaches being fired or walking away from the club, including Tim Sheens, Ivan Cleary, and Michael McGuire, the club took drastic action.

Benji Marshall, the Tigers’ favorite son and 2005 premiership winner, was given the unenviable task of turning the club around as a rookie coach, but was dealing with boardroom revolts in backplay.

The board of directors of the club is divided into three factions: the Holman Barnes Group, Wests, and Balmain.

The Holman Barnes Group directors on the Tigers board stepped up to the plate, voting in favor of the changes despite the fact that it meant their own position on the board would be sacrificed.

HBG chair Tony Andreacchio stated that the changes were necessary after the club went 12 years without making the finals.

‘We are determined to be successful for our members and fans,’ Andreacchio said after thanking Hagipantelis and Pascoe for their service.
