After being hired by the Browns, Joe Flacco received interest from other teams.

The Cleveland Browns were rewarded for taking a chance on Joe Flacco, who quickly established himself as the team’s starting quarterback for the rest of the season. Flacco was so successful that some teams tried to compensate for missing out on him previously.

Flacco’s agent, Joe Linta, told Peter King of NBC Sports that “two or three” teams inquired about signing Flacco when he was returned to the Browns’ practice squad last week in a roster management move. Linta said Flacco never considered leaving Cleveland.

Linta said, “Joe didn’t want to hear it.” “He was determined to remain in Cleveland.” He adores the group. He gets along great with the coach.”

Joe Flacco had interest from other teams after landing Browns job

When the Browns signed Flacco, he was initially assigned to the practice squad before being promoted to the active roster. That meant he had to go back to the practice squad, where he could have been targeted by other teams even after the team had committed to him as their starter. The Browns signed Flacco to a one-year contract extension last week to ensure that this option was no longer available, even if Flacco was not tempted to leave.

In three games with Cleveland, Flacco has thrown for 939 yards and seven touchdowns. He hasn’t been flawless, but he’s been more than adequate, and a few QB-needy teams may be cursing themselves for ignoring him for so long.
