CONFIRMED: 49ers are bringing him back

Week 6 was a rough one, to say the least, for the San Francisco 49ers. In addition to losing to the Desaun Watson-less Cleveland Browns, they suffered injuries to a few of their best players.

Christian McCaffrey has an oblique injury. Trent Williams has an ankle injury. Deebo Samuel has a shoulder injury. Dre Greenlaw has a hamstring injury.

With the Niners playing on Monday night, their injured players’ game statuses were determined on Saturday. Williams is doubtful, while McCaffrey and Greenlaw are very questionable.

How long will Deebo Samuel be out?

Samuel appears to have gotten the worst of it, as he’s been ruled out; and not only for this upcoming game.

The general consensus is that a hairline (or stress) fracture usually takes around six to eight weeks to heal. It must be noted that Samuel appears to be built and wired differently than most normal human beings. That’s probably the reason a return in Week 10 is being considered a possibility.

Until Samuel comes back, the 49ers will rely heavily on Brandon Aiyuk to lead the wideouts. He has already delivered some big performances this season and will be in line for even more targets than usual. George Kittle should see an uptick in volume as well.
