– For the seventh time this season, the Tennessee Titans lost a one-score game on Sunday. After leading late in the fourth quarter, Tennessee let one slip away and fell 20-17 to the Seattle Seahawks.
It was a defeating afternoon for Titans fans. This team just can’t seem to get over the hump and finish in tight games.
But even with another loss on their record, the Titans might have won on Christmas Eve. Tennessee is now sitting with the fifth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The New York Jets and Chicago Bears, two teams who entered the weekend with five wins, both won and improved to 6-9 on Sunday. The Titans jumped both of them in draft order as a result.
Tennessee also moved past the Los Angeles Chargers, who are also 5-10. When two teams are tied in record, draft position is determined by strength of schedule. The tie breaker status between the Titans and Chargers will be constantly changing over the next two weeks.
A win by the New York Giants on Monday afternoon would help Tennessee maintain their current slot.
If you can’t win on the field, you might as well win the battle for draft position. Titans fans can take solace in that over the next few weeks.
