TENNESSEE TITANS HAS AGREED FOR $750 DEAL WITH

The Tennessee Titans selected the former Kentucky quarterback in the second round with the No. 33 overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. It came a day after Levis fell out of the first round.

“You wanna make a connection with the team so they believe in you for who you are as a player and as a person,” Levis said in an interview on ESPN after the pick was announced. “And definitely I feel like I found that with the Tennessee Titans and just very grateful to be a part of such an excellent organization.”

One of 17 prospects in attendance at Thursday’s opening round in Kansas City, Missouri, Levis was expected to be one of the first players off the board: According to ESPN Analytics, there was a 92% chance that Levis was going to be picked in the top 10.

Levis was the fourth quarterback taken in this year’s draft; Alabama’s Bryce Young, Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud and Florida’s Anthony Richardson went among the top four picks Thursday.

“I think that regardless if I went first overall or in the second round that my work ethic wouldn’t change. Circumstances can’t affect how you approach situations like that,” Levis said. “But I’m happy for all the dudes that went in the first round. Definitely something that I would’ve liked to happen, but I feel like I ended up exactly where I was meant to be and just looking forward to getting to work.”

Titans’ fans, here are some things to know about Levis:

How did Will Levis do at Kentucky?

Levis started his college career at Penn State. But after three seasons in which he played just 15 games (two starts) with the Nittany Lions, Levis hit the transfer portal. He wound up with the Wildcats, where he went on to become one of the program’s most successful quarterbacks of the modern era. His 17 wins over the past two seasons are tied for the second most by a UK signal-caller since 1993, when starting lineups began being tracked by the athletics department. His 43 touchdown passes are fifth most in Kentucky’s record book, and he ran for 11 scores. Levis, who led the Wildcats to a 10-3 record and a Citrus Bowl win in 2021, finished his UK career with 5,233 passing yards (418 of 636, 65.7%), sixth on the school’s all-time list.
