FSU to land transfer target crystal ball prediction

I expect FSU to land a former Top 100 prospect through the Transfer Portal.

I just put in a Crystal Ball for Florida State to land LSU wide receiver Jalen Brown.

Brown was the N0. 91 overall recruit and No. 14 WR with a 95 overall grade in the 2023 recruiting cycle. He was recruited by FSU during that cycle before picking LSU, where he played in three games while not recording a stat for a Tigers receiving corps that was among the best nationally.

OL Transfer Pearson Toomey has spent the last two days visiting FSU; what is next for him, and when will he make a decision?
Pearson Toomey, a Furman transfer offensive lineman, talks about his trip to Florida State.

TALLAHASSEE — Florida State continues to look to add quality pieces to their offensive line. Furman offensive line transfer Pearson Toomey has emerged as a top target for the Seminoles. Toomey, who is being looked at as a guard for the Seminoles, spent Wednesday and Thursday in Tallahassee, checking out the University and program, and considering them as a spot for his final year of eligibility. He is a fifth-year offensive lineman and a Jacksonville (Fla.) Beach native.

“Really cool place. Kind of magical being here. I’ve never actually been to Tallahassee before. Never been to FSU,” Toomey said. “It is a really cool place. I love the people here. Didn’t get to meet a lot of the players, but talked to them a little bit. A pretty cool place.”

Toomey explained why it was that he wanted to check out FSU upon entering into the NCAA Transfer Portal.

“Just everything behind FSU,” Toomey said. “FSU’s reputation. What they’ve done these past couple of years. This coaching staff. Looking at me, a guy from a smaller school, believing in someone like me, it’s just really cool.”

Toomey is listed at 6-foot-3, 295 pounds. He played left tackle at Furman but projects as a guard at the P4 level. He shared details on the visit including thoughts on offensive line coach Alex Atkins and head coach Mike Norvell, his upcoming visit plans, and when he will decide in the interview below:

After entering the NCAA Transfer Portal in December, Toomey swiftly picked up scholarship offers from South Carolina, Texas A&M, Michigan State, Pitt, USF, and many others.

On Thursday, he made it sound like his top four consists of Florida State, South Carolina, Duke, and NC State. He will be making his way to see the Gamecocks after leaving FSU. A decision isn’t far off either.

“I’ve got other places I want to look at and I’ll be doing that this week. I’ve got to make my decision this weekend,” Toomey said. “[FSU] talked about make sure it’s the right. They’re not pressuring me to do anything which I really appreciate. The fit is what is most important for them and for me.”

Much more from Toomey can be heard in the video interview above.

Toomey was a three-year starter at Furman, receiving All-Southern Conference 1st Team honors in 2022 and 2023. He had a 77.7 PFF Grade in 2023, with a strong performance against South Carolina — a program that also expects him on campus for a visit during this window.

He is not yet ranked as a transfer by 247Sports.com.
