JUST NOW: Florida key player sign two-year contract with Penn State

Earlier this morning, it was confirmed that Penn State had landed former Georgia cornerback AJ Harris. Just a few hours later, the Nittany Lions added a second SEC cornerback, picking up a commitment from former Florida cornerback Jalen Kimber,

Kimber was a high four-star prospect in the 2020 class when he signed with the Georgia Bulldogs. After two seasons at Georgia, Kimber made his way to Florida where he played the 2022 and 2023 seasons. This past season, he was a starter for the Gators, finishing the season with 23 tackles, 5 passes defended, and 1 fumble recovery.

Kimber had been committed to Louisville, but switched his transfer destination after taking a visit to Happy Valley last weekend. He will have one season of eligibility left.

This is a nice pickup for cornerbacks coach Terry Smith, who is tasked with replacing all three starting cornerbacks — Kalen King, Johnny Dixon, and Daequan Hardy. Kimber isn’t necessarily a plug-and-play starter. I think, outside of Cam Miller, those spots are truly up for grabs. But Kimber offers some really good length at 6-foot-0, 185 pounds, and is an elite athlete dating back to his high school days.
