Jim Harbaugh is returning to the NFL.

Following Michigan’s victory in the College Football Playoff national championship, Harbaugh announced that he would leave the Wolverines to return to the NFL, taking over as head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.

On Sunday, Harbaugh traveled to Baltimore to watch his older brother John lead the Ravens to the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

NFL reveal three Bluntly reason why Jim Harbaugh is leaving Michigan

Before the game, the younger Harbaugh met with the CBS crew to discuss his return to the NFL. According to Harbaugh, the decision was based on one simple factor.

“It was tough. “I was torn,” Harbaugh explained. “My wife and kids. I adore Michigan. However, I enjoy watching the NFL as well. There is no Lombardi Trophy in college football. I only have a limited number of sands left in the hourglass, so I’d like to try.”

Harbaugh will face a daunting task if he is to win the Lombardi Trophy, as the Chargers compete in an AFC West division dominated by the Chiefs for nearly a decade.

The 2024 season cannot arrive soon enough.
