Oklahoma players crash into each other during pregame entrance as three where rush into the hospital

The head football coach at the University of Oklahoma (OU) was trampled by his players after he tripped while running onto the field during the team’s fog-machine-assisted pregame entrance in Norman, Oklahoma, on November 24.

This video, recorded by former OU player Devin Staton, shows coach Brent Venables briefly emerge from a wall of fog as he falls. Players then begin to trip and start stacking on top of their coach.

Venables was eventually able to stand up, and jog onto the field to lead his team to victory against Texas Christian University (TCU).

In a post-game interview, Venables said “probably 5,000 pounds” fell on him.

“I literally thought in the moment, ‘This is how people die’,” he said. “I didn’t think I was going to die, but it was a very real thing. My face kept getting shoved in the ground, and you could feel one person after another.”
