According to Denik Sport, former Flyers goaltender Roman Čechmánek passed away. When he played for the Flyers, Čechmánek saved pucks with his helmet.
Čechmánek was drafted at age 29. He made his NHL debut on October 17, 2000. Čechmánek had a 35-15-6 record and a.921 save percentage in his first season in Philadelphia.
Unfortunately, Čechmánek has struggled in his post-hockey career. However, his passing is very unfortunate for all hockey fans, particularly Flyers fans. He died at the young age of 52.
