What a clear and troubling news for Storm

Melbourne superstar Ryan Papenhuyzen was taken off the field on a medicab in the closing stages of the Storm’s 26-0 finals defeat to Brisbane after suffering another serious leg injury.

With just over seven minutes remaining, Papenhuyzen was caught in an awkward position while tackling teammate Nelson Asofa-Solomona.

Papenhuyzen’s ankle was twisted under Asofa-Solomona, and play was halted for several minutes while medics attended to him. Storm officials later confirmed that he suffered a serious broken ankle.

“He’s gone to the hospital. I have not seen him, but Frank (Ponissi) said he was in a lot of pain. Storm coach Craig Bellamy said, “It’s not great.”

“I couldn’t imagine how he’s feeling at the moment. The amount of work he’s put in to playing again, then he had to work hard to get back in the NRL team.
