Breaking News: Philadelphia Eagles confirm the signing of another experienced CB

Eagles Select Alabama Star CB in NFL Mock Draft
The Eagles’ secondary performed like one of the worst in the league in the latter part of the season, despite having a wealth of talented and dependable veterans in the back end. After a dismal finish to the season, coaching was undoubtedly in doubt, but it’s difficult to overlook the Eagles’ personnel problems. Therefore, Philadelphia addresses those concerns in a recent CBS Sports mock draft by selecting one of the top defensive backs in the 2024 class.

According to the website, Philadelphia will choose cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry of Alabama at pick No. 22 overall. In this mock draft, he is the third wide receiver taken by the Raiders at No. 13 overall. Terrion Arnold, a teammate of his on the Crimson Tide, is the first defensive back selected. Here’s what CBS Sports said on Philadelphia’s selection:

“The Eagles absolutely need to address their secondary early in the draft, and McKinstry has long looked like a future first-round pick on the field,” the publication stated. McKinstry recorded 93 total tackles, two sacks, 23 passes defended, and two interceptions in his three seasons at Alabama. He also gained 418 yards while returning 37 punts.

In the secondary, the Eagles already have a number of young, talented players. Since veterans James Bradberry and Darius Slay are nearing the conclusion of their careers, adding McKinstry to the mix along with 2023 draft selections Kelee Ringo and Sydney Brown offers Philly talent to build around.
