Wests Tigers is pleased to announce the signing of o, a New Zealand outside back who has joined the club’s top-30 roster for the 2024 NRL season.

The 27-year-old is transitioning to rugby league after spending many seasons in Super Rugby with the Waikato Chiefs and most recently with Canterbury in New Zealand’s National Provincial Championship.

Alaimalo arrived in Sydney on Sunday evening and began his first training session with his new teammates on Monday at the Wests Tigers’ Zurich Centre.

The Auckland-born speedster played junior rugby for Canterbury before making his Super Rugby debut with the Chiefs in 2017, when he was voted Rookie of the Year.

Wests Tigers head coach Benji Marshall believes Alaimalo, who stands nearly two metres tall, will make a significant contribution to the squad.

“We’re very excited to have Solomon join the club,” Marshall added.

“He will also add leadership and experience to our group, and he is a man of great character.”

Alaimalo is pleased with what he has observed on the first day at his new club.
