A run of four league games without a win, which started with a goalless draw against Lincoln City last month, has destroyed Peterborough’s chances of getting promoted.
Posh lost three straight league games to Wigan Athletic, Exeter City, and Wycombe Wanderers before failing to earn a point after that outcome.
In their away match against Wycombe on Saturday, Peterborough looked to be gathering momentum after giving up three goals before the hour mark. David Ajiboye and Ricky-Jade Jones each scored one goal to give the team hope.
Wycombe, on the other hand, scored two more goals to seal a disappointing 5-2 loss for Peterborough, which dropped them to fifth place and four points outside of the top two.
