Unbelievable: The two standout players from Steelers are been suspended after it was discovered that…

Steelers quarterback options for 2024: it’s said that the team will not trade for Justin Fields and will instead stick with Kenny Pickett.

Kenny Pickett is expected to start for the Steelers in 2024, and they have no intention of adding any more players to the starting lineup.

Despite some rumors of a potential trade for Bears quarterback Justin Fields, Pittsburgh’s starting quarterback position will almost certainly end up being Pickett, as reported on Saturday by Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Dulac stated that although Mason Rudolph, who is scheduled to enter free agency, looks to be the favorite to start again after his late-season heroics, Pickett still seems to be the favorite to do so.

If the Steelers choose to look outside of Fields, they have other options. Since Kirk Cousins is a free agent, many believe the Broncos and Raiders will release Jimmy Garoppolo and Russell Wilson, respectively. Even after Fields, though, Dulac revealed that the Steelers “are not interested in bringing in a quarterback who wants to be a starter.”

MORE: Where might a trade for Justin Fields occur?

If the Bears decide to forego the 2021 first-round pick and instead use the first overall pick in the draft to select a quarterback like Caleb Williams, the Steelers have been mentioned as much as, if not more than, any other team as a potential landing spot for Fields.

At face value, the rumors certainly seemed plausible. Fields has not lived up to the high expectations placed on him as the former 11th overall pick, but he has occasionally displayed explosiveness and first-round talent as a strong-armed runner. A consistent problem has been the absence of a particularly noteworthy supporting cast.
