According to the Associated Press, DeMonte Capehart, a defensive tackle, has been reinstated to the Clemson football team after having multiple charges removed from his record.
Capehart was arrested on Feb. 6 and charged with illegally possessing a firearm on campus and driving carelessly. According to state court records, the charges were dismissed as part of a “pretrial intervention program for first-time offenders charged with nonviolent crimes.”
According to records, the defensive tackle had previously posted a $10,000 bond for weapons and a $232.50 bond for traffic charges.
A Clemson spokesperson said the expunged charges and his completion of the pretrial program mean he was reinstated to the football team in time for spring workouts, which begin Wednesday.
