Marvin Jones Jr. must leave the NFL due to personal issues; the Lions have confirmed his departure.
The twelve-year veteran has recently arrived back in Detroit.
Marvin Jones Jr., a wide receiver, posted on Instagram to announce his resignation from the Detroit Lions due to family matters. Without providing any other explanation, the team announced his release on its X, formerly Twitter, account.
In the letter, Jones thanks and shows appreciation to the Ford family, the Lions’ owners, the city of Detroit, his coaches, and his teammates.
The receiver, who did not play in Detroit’s Week 7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, said, “To be brief, I am leaving the team to take care of personal family matters.”
