Eddie Jackson’s mysterious comment appears to corroborate the theories that fans have been drawing since the 2023 season.
He now knows that he will suffer a cap cut from the Bears.
Jackson posted a black screen with the hashtag #AllLoveChi Town on Instagram.
Additionally, he tweeted, “New Beginnings.”
Although Jackson’s performance at safety declined somewhat in the previous season, his pay is the primary factor that has been cited in the projections for his departure. In 2021, he agreed to a $58 million, four-year deal.
The Bears will save $12.56 million in cap space for Jackson’s last year of contract if he is cut before June 1st, but they would also forfeit $5.58 million in deadcap space. He will save them $14.15 million in cap and only pay them $3.99 million in dead cap if they cut him with a post-June 1 des
ignation.
