MOCK: As the draft approaches, experts cannot agree on the Lions’ selection.

The NFL Draft in Detroit is quickly coming as the calendar has turned to April.

In the latest mock draft, who players are the favorites to be selected by the Lions? Now let’s investigate:

Cooper DeJean, DB, Iowa; Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

Why: With his size, quickness, and tenacity, DeJean is a unique addition to the Lions that can contend for a starting position as a safety or cornerback.

Bucky Brooks, NFL.com: Edge, Penn State; Chop Robinson

Why: To complement Aidan Hutchinson, the Lions need to acquire a pass rusher. Robinson is an outstanding athlete with lightning-fast first steps.

The entire mockery of Brooks

NFL.com’s Eric Edholm: Carolina trades out of the first round. WR Xavier Worthy of Texas is chosen by Carolina at No. 29.

Why: The Panthers may select the best speedball in the draft in this area if they are prepared to trade up from early in Round 2 and give up a fourth-round pick, which Detroit does not currently have.

Edholm’s complete impersonation

Charles Davis, NFL.com: Florida State’s Braden Fiske, a DT

Why: Fiske embodies everything Detroit looks for in a player and has had one of the best offseasons of any talent selected in this year’s draft.

Davis’s entire parody

Chad Reuter, NFL.com: Edge, Missouri’s Darius Robinson (No. 29)

Why: Robinson, who weighs 285 pounds, showed off his versatility in Missouri’s scheme last season. He would probably be used similarly by the Lions, across from Aidan Hutchinson.

Why: DeJean would join Jack Campbell, a 2023 first-round pick and former teammate from Iowa, in Detroit to strengthen the Lions’ secondary. With remarkable man coverage abilities and on-ball output (seven interceptions in the last two years), he is a quick player.

Ja’Lynn Polk (No. 61), Washington, WR

Why: There isn’t a lot of depth at edge defender in the draft overall, but the Lions could still give it some thought. Receiver see Josh Reynolds’ signing with Denver as a potential hole alongside Amon-Ra St. Brown. Polk is rugged and has a good catch radius, but he isn’t a burner (4.53 in the 40 at the combine). He has 1,159 receiving yards at the end of 2023.

Why: Latu’s basics and get-off speed are excellent. In his two seasons with UCLA, he totaled 23.5 sacks; at this time, his health is the main concern. Latu had to medically withdraw from the game in 2020 due to a neck injury he sustained while playing for Washington. Two years later, he transferred and resumed his career. However, the production and talent are flawless.
