SAD NEWS: Chicago’s top player suffered a serious injury.

Former Chicago Cubs World Series Hero Discusses Receiving Death Threats

The Chicago Cubs and their supporters will always be appreciative of Kris Bryant’s tenure with the team, which helped them end an infamous drought and win their first World Series since 1908.

He has received standing ovations each time he has returned to Wrigley Field, which is proof of that.

A key member of their 2016 championship team, he also won the NL MVP award after hitting.292/.385/.544 and setting career highs in RBI (102) and home runs (39).

The Cubs eventually began dismantling their championship core after attempting to do so, and at the 2021 trade deadline, they dealt Bryant to the San Francisco Giants. He inked a big seven-year, $182 million deal with the Colorado Rockies after that season.

Regretfully, since leaving Chicago, things have not gone well for the former superstar.

Due to numerous injuries, he has only participated in 129 of the 486 games that the Rockies have scheduled for him in his three years there. In the field, he has also struggled, slashing.252/.332/.396 with just 16 home runs and 48 RBI.

Bryant talked about the difficulties he’s had as a player in Colorado, claiming that, according to FOX31 Denver’s Dave Althouse, he has received death threats.

“I’ve been through it all – death threats, kill yourself all the craziness that this game will dish out.”

The most obvious example of the criticism he has received from the Rockies came on April 5, when he was pelted with jeers after failing to score in the bottom of the ninth inning with a chance to win the game. Before that, Bryant had hit a two-run home run in the eighth to increase their lead.

The former celebrity has undoubtedly had difficulties during his time in Colorado, but regardless of how poorly he has performed, the kind of treatment he has been receiving is unacceptable.
