News Now: New Browns quarterbacks have picked their jersey numbers.

The Cleveland Browns already have a quarterback, and they believe he will deliver in 2024.

Nonetheless, experience has taught us that there is never enough depth at quarterback.

That’s why GM Andrew Berry addressed the matter early in the offseason, bringing in veterans Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley to join Deshaun Watson and Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the quarterback room.

With many players no longer on the roster, the newcomers have finally decided on their new numbers, with Winston going with No. 5 and Huntley with No. 10, which was formerly worn by P.J. Walker (via NFL Jersey Numbers).

Huntley could be a wild card.

He is well-versed in the AFC North division from his time with the Baltimore Ravens, and he should be a valuable addition to scouting teams, especially as the Browns prepare for Lamar Jackson.

Winston is currently regarded as one of the top backup quarterbacks in the game.

He’s a former first-round pick, a phenomenal athlete, and a tremendous locker room leader.

So, even if some Browns supporters were frustrated that the team did not re-sign Joe Flacco after everything he had done, Winston should make a difference in Berea.

However, the Browns are hoping that Deshaun Watson will be beneficial for them in 2024, as they have sacrificed so much to get him there, and he hasn’t exactly been at his best in the few games he’s been eligible to play.

Myles Garrett made a surprise visit to the youth team in Japan.

The Cleveland Browns boast probably the best defensive player in the league, but Myles Garrett is so much more than that.

The previous No. 1 pick is also a community pillar and fan favorite, often reaching out to fans and expressing his support for the next generation of players.

That was demonstrated again this week when the team published a video of Garrett meeting with a youth flag football team in Japan.

Garrett paid a surprise visit to the 2024 NFL flag winners in Japan, leaving the children in shock.

He’s coming off the best season of his career, and he could improve even more with another full offseason with Jim Schwartz.

While his numbers were not as dazzling as those of other players, Garrett was by far the most dominant defensive force in the game in 2023, forcing other teams to game plan for him and drawing double-teams on every single snap.

He rarely benefited from a holding call, but he was able to shake off the pressure to be fired or upset everything around him most of the time.

Garrett is the Browns’ defensive anchor and one of the key driving forces behind their championship-caliber defense.

His presence there encourages other players to perform at their peak and play more freely, knowing that he is by their side.

And, with the NFL becoming more global by the day, it’s encouraging to see him reach out to young athletes overseas.

Who knows.

Perhaps he will inspire the next generation of Japanese players.
