It is “foregone” that the Titans will select this candidate in the 2024 NFL Draft.

There’s no denying that last season’s 6-11 record didn’t deliver the results the Tennessee Titans were hoping for. Finishing in last place of the AFC South got Mike Vrabel fired, and now new head coach Brian Callahan is looking to avoid the same fate, but he’ll need plenty of help from GM Ran Carthon in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Titans currently hold the seventh overall pick, and while there’s rumblings of a potential trade, especially if a QB-needy makes an offer too good to refuse, it’s possible Tennessee is already locked into their top draft target.

According to ESPN’s Matt Miller, the smoke pointing Joe Alt to Tennesee is very legitimate.

The key there is, “as long as Alt is still on the board.” As the consensus top-ranked left tackle in the 2024 draft class, Alt is highly coveted, and it’s possible others like the Los Angeles Chargers are eyeing the tall Notre Dame tackle to help protect Justin Herbert too.

Yet, the Chargers may have other pressing needs at the receiver position, and they are in an even better spot to negotiate a trade with any of the teams looking to move up for a QB like J.J. McCarthy. In turn, the Titans may be in the perfect place to add Alt on draft day, where he’ll form a young tandem with Peter Skoronski on the left side of Tennessee’s O-Line.
