According to Charania: “Sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium that the Golden State Warriors intend to convert two-way center Usman Garuba to a standard NBA contract for the remainder of the season.” Garuba, who is qualified for the playoffs, will occupy the last roster place for the Warriors.”

The Houston Rockets originally selected Garuba with the 23rd overall choice in the 2021 NBA Draft.

Throughout 104 regular season games, he has averaged 2.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 46.9% from the field and 36.3% from three-point range.

With a 45-36 record through 81 games, Golden State is currently ranked as the tenth seed in the Western Conference—the last play-in berth in the postseason.

They have won eight of their past ten games, but their most recent defeat came at home against the New Orleans Pelicans, when they were defeated 114-109.

The Warriors’ next game is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at the Chase Center in San Francisco, where they will host the Utah Jazz after their trip to New Orleans.

The Utah Jazz face off against the Golden State Warriors in the last game of the regular season. Despite the game’s result having major implications for both franchises, key contributors may not participate on both sides.

Jordan Clarkson, John Collins, Kris Dunn, and Lauri Markkanen are out, while starting shooting guard Collin Sexton is questionable. As for the Warriors, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga, Chris Paul, and Klay Thompson are questionable, and Gary Payton II is out.
