Draymond Green rips Anthony Davis for throwing Darvin Ham under the bus

When Anthony Davis questioned Darvin Ham’s coaching during the Lakers’ Game 2 loss to the Nuggets on Monday, a few heads turned. For periods of time, according to Davis, “we don’t know what we’re doing on both ends of the floor.”

Ham responded by saying that he “agreed to disagree” with the standout big man and emphasized that his coaching staff is proud of “being highly efficient and organized” in all settings, including shootarounds, games, practice, and film sessions.

After the exchange of words between the two, NBA TV’s Jared Greenberg said that Davis’ remarks had left many “upset and disappointed” in the Lakers organization.

“I found AD’s post-game statement to be extremely disappointing,” Green stated on “The Draymond Green Show” on Friday. “Darvin Ham was a player and a black man, which is why I was upset in AD’s remarks, even though I have a lot of respect and affection for him. I didn’t appreciate how they just threw him under the bus like that. I was not grateful for it. I had no regard for it. Darvin Ham was my original guy from Saginaw, Michigan, so I might be a little biased, but I am really disappointed with AD.”

Green thinks that up until the players blew the lead in Game 2, Ham’s coaching staff set up Davis and the Lakers to have a 20-point lead. Therefore, he believes Davis should own up to the defeat rather than assigning blame.

It should be noted that after holding double-digit leads in each of the first three games against the Nuggets, the Lakers are now trailing 3-0 and in danger of going out. The fourth game will begin.
