Stephen Curry’s tenure with the Golden State Warriors will only get shorter. Trading breakout player Jonathan Kuminga, who missed the playoffs, might allow them to take advantage of what’s left in Curry’s prime.
Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, however, shot down any idea of a possible Kuminga deal. She disclosed the degree of
“Not at all,” Shelburne stated on The Game on 95.7 FM. “I think they’ll do everything in their power to keep him, but it’s going to get complicated because of his extension talks and how much money they have,” the analyst said. They don’t even seem to want to discuss him, really.
Shelburne remarked, “They have a pretty good set of assets.” “The team has some more talented young players besides Kuminga. They have Wiggins, Gary Payton II, draft picks, and a ton of choices, as well as respectable contracts with plenty of options.
Additionally, there is Chris Paul, the blue chip. Numerous organizations find the contract to be highly intriguing for various reasons. The Warriors might easily decide to keep him and pocket the money now. However, a lot of clubs find that to be a valuable trade asset.
Though it doesn’t seem like Kuminga will be traded anytime soon, ESPN’s Zach Lowe suggested a deal that would include him. Kevin Durant, the former Warrior, would be the return package.
On April 29, Lowe stated on his podcast, “The Lowe Post,” that “KD reunited with the Warriors.” “Every young man is a wage padder. Kuminga and all the other [young] guys you don’t want to trade with will be involved. Since Kevin Durant is involved, you’ll most likely trade those men.
Bobby Marks, his guest, listed the other people that needed to be included in the exchange.
Marks remarked, “Wiggins should be your stand-in.” Isn’t that your huge number? After then, a mix of Kuminga, [Brandin] Podziemski, [Moses] Moody, and anything else you have will be used.
In both of Durant’s seasons with the team, the Phoenix Suns have advanced to the postseason. But they haven’t quite achieved their aim of taking home a championship. Kuminga may be their best-returning asset if they determine it is not worth keeping him.
