Aston Villa will be hoping to get over their European heartache with a win against Liverpool on Monday night.

Emery’s side will be eager to turn the corner after they lost to Brighton last time out in the Premier League and then saw their Europa Conference League Final hopes ended by losing to Olympiakos on Thursday night, 6-2 on aggregate. Villa now have two games remaining to clinch Champions League qualification, against Liverpool and then Crystal Palace on the last day of the season.

Liverpool are looking to end their season on a high with Monday night’s clash being Jurgen Klopp’s final away game in charge of the Reds. Liverpool beat Tottenham 4-2 with Champions League qualification already secured however they will be keen to send off Klopp in style.

Klopp has also heaped praise on Unai Emery ahead of the tie in a pre-match press conference with the German speaking very highly of his Spanish counterpart. Klopp said: “Incredible job. Unai Emery is one of the best we have in the business, 100 percent,” Klopp told reporters at his penultimate pre-match press conference. Wherever he is, success.”
