According to reports, an Orlando Pirates star is attempting to leave the team because he feels mistreated by Jose Riveiro!
There are reports that an Orlando Pirates player is pressuring to leave the team.
This follows the incredibly disappointing 2023–24 DStv Premiership season.
Monnapule Saleng, a swift winger, was the Orlando Pirates’ best player at the end of the previous campaign.
Nearly all by himself, the talented Bafana Bafana international led the Buccaneers to two trophies.
He was also named the MTN 8 Last Man Standing and PSL Players’ Player of the Season for his 15 goals and 11 assists.
ORLANDO PIRATES: SALENG TO HAND IN TRANSFER REQUEST?
But Saleng has found it difficult to break into Jose Riveiro’s starting lineup for the Orlando Pirates this season.
The Buccaneers’ star of last season only has 16 starts this year. Furthermore, rumors now state that he plans to quit the club the following month!
A Citizen story stated, “Monnapule Saleng, an out-of-favor Orlando Pirates midfielder, is set to submit a transfer request at the end of the season as he looks to get more game time somewhere else.”
I believe Monnapule was impacted in some way by the poor decisions made at the close of the previous season. After that, he was never the same player, an insider told the same newspaper.
But he’s moved over it, and you can tell that he’s more focused now when he walks in. However, it appears that the coach’s goal is to make him an impact player. And because he is not satisfied with that, he will request permission from the club to play elsewhere.
In other news, Rulani Mokwena, the coach of Mamelodi Sundowns, has nominated four Brazilians, an Orlando Pirates player, and a Stellenbosch star for Player of the Season!
Sundowns won the DStv Premiership with relative ease for a record-tying seventh time in a row. In contrast, the MTN8 was won by the Pirates, while Stellenbosch emerged victorious in the first Carling Cup.
