TRENDING NEWS: Dolphins legend is due for retirement.

In the NFL, a seasoned receiver has caught his last pass.

On Monday, DeVante Parker told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that he had made the decision to retire from the NFL. Father of four Parker stated that he feels that now is the right moment for him to spend more time with his family.

Parker was cited as stating, “I want to see my kids, spend quality time with them.” “Whenever I can, I want to be there for them.”

Regarding his future, Parker continued, “I’m just going to take things slowly,” adding that he does not currently have any firm goals for his career.

Parker, 31, started his career with the Miami Dolphins after being selected by them with the 14th overall pick in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. During the 2019 season, they led the club with 1,202 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns. Prior to the 2022 season, Parker was moved to the New England Patriots, where he spent the last two seasons of his career (including 33 receptions for 394 yards in the previous campaign).

Parker inked a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles in March, giving the impression that he was ready to prolong his NFL career. Only two months later, though, Parker is changing his direction and will formally retire from the game. He may eventually pursue this off-field endeavor.
