REPORT: Alabama has agree to there schedule just now.

The Northeastern State RiverHawks have been added to the North Alabama Lions’ 2025 football schedule, according per NSU’s official website.

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, North Alabama will play Northeastern State at Braly Municipal Stadium in Florence, Alabama. This game will be the first-ever gridiron meeting between the two schools.

Football at Northeastern State is played as an Independent at least until the 2026 season. The school plays in Division II. The Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) was home to the RiverHawks until last fall, when they decided to leave the league in an effort to revamp their program, which had only won 16 games in 11 seasons.

North Alabama has tentatively completed its non-conference schedule in 2025 with the inclusion of Northeastern State. On August 30, the Lions are scheduled to play the WKU Hilltoppers away from home.

The Southeast Missouri RedHawks at home on September 6 and the Illinois State Redbirds on the road on September 27 are two more non-conference games that North Alabama will play in 2025. The Lions will face eight opponents from the United Athletic Conference (UAC) in addition to those four non-league opponents.

On Saturday, August 24, North Alabama will take on Southeast Missouri in the FCS Kickoff in the first 2024 season. The historic Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama will host the game.
