Hanne is originally from Germany, but he goes to Santa Margarita Catholic High School in California. He presently has over ten college football offers, and the 2025 recruit’s offer list grows with each camp performance.
Georgia offered Hanne following camp on Thursday, and he has scheduled an official visit with the Bulldogs.
The Germany product stated that it felt ‘wonderful’ and rewarding to receive an offer from the Tide, and he believes it will have an impact on the future of his recruitment, which he views to be ongoing.
“I’m really grateful,” Hanne told Touchdown Alabama. “All of your sacrifices and hard work are paying off. It is surreal. My recruiting is still open. I haven’t determined anything yet. But, of course, it has a significant influence because this is Alabama.”
Hanne went on to discuss the Alabama program as a whole.
“It’s a great program,” Hanne added. “They believe in and nurture their players. “They’ve consistently produced great players over the years.”
Hanne has the length and size that college coaches look for, standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 280 pounds. He demonstrates explosiveness with how swiftly he fires from his stance.

Marlie Giles’ clutch play helped keep Alabama softball alive in the WCWS.
In the 2023 Women’s College World Series, Marlie Giles pinch hit for Alabama softball and hit a solo home run. The Crimson Tide lost that game, but Giles’ big-game skill was impressive.
On Friday, with the Crimson Tide and Duke deadlocked at one, Giles returned to the WCWS plate in the sixth inning. On a 1-0 count, Blue Devils pitcher Cassidy Curd hit one to the sweet spot, and Giles capitalized.
The Chilton County catcher hit the ball to right center, and the Crimson Tide avoided elimination by defeating Duke 2-1.
“My dad has always said for some reason the Lord is always with me in big moments,” remarked Giles. “Sometimes, most of the time, I come through for whatever reason. I just thank God for that since I don’t know.”
Giles’ home run was just one of his many major hits on Friday. In the first inning, she drove in Kenleigh Cahalan with an RBI double, giving Alabama an early lead.
Following the victory, UA head coach Patrick Murphy praised the sophomore player.
“She saw the ball as big as a basketball tonight,” Murphy explained. “It was perfect timing.” We had a runner on, and she hit a double. The next time she scores a home run. Two RBIs, one guy. “That’s all Kayla Beaver needed.”
Alabama faced elimination in Friday’s game. That will be the case again on Sunday, when the Crimson Tide face the loser of the Texas-Florida game.
UA’s playoff formula has included one big hit, from Riley Valentine’s grand slam against Tennessee in the super regional to Giles’ solo shot on Friday.
If the catcher can continue to step up in key occasions, it will be a significant help for Alabama’s offense, which has been struggling.
It would also mark the end of a year in which Giles has been on the comeback path. On March 30, she collided with Kentucky and broke her arm.
Her recuperation took until May 2, when she returned to face Auburn.
“It’s definitely been a long year,” Giles added. “It has been a trip, for sure. I know for myself, I’ve put my confidence in God throughout the process, and it’s helped me recover as quickly as possible.”
Her bat has added a spark to the lineup, but her presence as UA’s starting catcher has also provided stability for the Tide’s pitchers. She got the final out of Kayla Beaver on Friday, as the Arkansas State graduate transfer grabbed the win in relief.
Beaver, who is well aware that each Alabama game could be her final collegiate softball appearance, was overjoyed to have her battery mate return for the late part of the season.
“It means everything,” Beaver explained. “Me and she have been working well together all year. I am so pleased of what she has accomplished since returning. She came in, worked hard, and came back with a bang. “She’s been fantastic behind the plate and in the lineup.”
Alabama will play at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday against either Texas or Florida.
