News Now: Inter Milan coach hopes to keep Aston Villa transfer target – crucial contract talks in the coming days.

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is allegedly trying to keep Denzel Dumfries for next season.
While the Nerazzurri are set to retain their core intact, the 27-year-old could be an exception.

That is because the Dutchman is currently on a contract that expires in 2025, and management has been unable to strike an agreement with his agents on a renewal.

The Italian champions have offered the wingback a salary of 4 million euros, which is comparable to his teammate Federico Dimarco. Nonetheless, Dumfries is demanding $5 million in annual pay.

As a result, the Nerazzurri are already scanning the market for potential successors. The list includes Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Manuel Lazzari, and Emil Holm.
The most appealing alternative for the Nerazzuri could be Yukinari Sugawara of AZ Alkmaar.
However, Inzaghi is still intent on keeping Dumfries at Appiano Gentile.
According to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, the 48-year-old will shortly meet with management to discuss market strategies.
The former Lazio coach should underline his desire to keep the Dutch international.

Simone Inzaghi wants to keep Denzel Dumfries at Inter Milan.
However, as the source notes, the player’s future is heavily dependent on the outcome of the key conversations between management and the player’s representatives.
In the meantime, Inzaghi will cross his fingers and wait for the white smoke to appear.

If the two parties fail to reach an agreement, Inter will put Dumfries on the market.
The Turin-based publication explains that Aston Villa is still interested in the Dutchman. However, the Champions League new guys may be hesitant to pay 30 million euros for his services.

As a result, the source believes that Inter would keep the player if they do not receive satisfactory offers, even if it means losing his services for free in 2025.
