So Sad: Timberwolves react to Draymond after being triggered.

The Minnesota Timberwolves took note of Draymond Green’s comments about Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert.

Green criticized Minnesota’s big men on TNT’s “Inside the NBA” during the Western Conference semifinals between the Dallas Mavericks and Timberwolves. He referred to Gobert as “BBQ chicken” while defending Mavericks star Luka Dončić and accused Towns of lying about his pregame preparation.

The Timberwolves were upset by Green’s comments and planned to avoid on-court interviews with Green and the panel following their Game 4 victory over Dallas, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, who cited team sources.

“[Anthony] Edwards was surrounded by a tight-knit team, one with such good chemistry that it decided as a group that no player would appear on TNT’s “Inside the NBA” postgame program following their victory in Game 4 in Dallas, team sources told The Athletic.” Charania wrote.

“The decision was a sign of support for Gobert and Towns, who were the subject of derisive and seemingly personal criticism from panelist and Golden State forward Draymond Green.”

In the series, no Timberwolves player appeared on “Inside the NBA” again.

Only because their season ended abruptly after a humiliating Game 5 defeat on Thursday.

The WNBA’s Indiana Fever, led by rookie and former Iowa basketball star Caitlin Clark, must learn from Green and improve their mutual defense.

Green understands what it’s like to be on both sides of a cheap shot. Throughout his illustrious career, the four-time NBA All-Star has received 150 technical fouls and 19 ejections, with Green receiving four ejections, 13 technical fouls, and two suspensions in the 2023-24 season.

He missed 27 Warriors games this season, 16 of which were due to on-court altercations. Green also missed the majority of Golden State’s game against the Orlando Magic after being ejected from the Kia Center floor in the first quarter.

Green tells the Fever to find a player with his energy level to defend Clark. Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, has a target on her back from competing veterans; it’s all part of the job.

Carter told reporters after the game, “I ain’t answering no Caitlin Clark questions” (h/t NBC 5 Chicago), but subsequently questioned Clark’s basketball skills beyond her 3-point shooting in a Threads post.
