News Now: Stefon Diggs sends a crystal clear message to Josh Allen in his first news conference with the Texans.

The Buffalo Bills traded Stefon Diggs, therefore ending that era of Bills football. Diggs will no longer catch passes from Josh Allen and will instead catch passes from C.J. Stroud in Houston.

Diggs spoke with the media on Tuesday and expressed nothing but affection for his former quarterback. That may not have been the path you expected this post to take, but Diggs praised Allen, stating that he is still his guy and that he has “a lot of love for him”. He also stated that Allen was “instrumental” in his career.

Stefon Diggs describes Josh Allen as “instrumental” in his career.
The Bills acquired Diggs during the 2020 offseason, and he and Allen quickly made an impact on the field. Diggs had at least 1,100 yards in each of his four seasons in Buffalo, but the Bills did not make it to the Super Bowl during that span. Diggs would generally cause offseason trouble, so it made sense for the organization to trade him and get that salary off the books.

Despite Diggs’ tendency to talk a lot during his time in Buffalo, it was refreshing to hear him compliment Allen. The two put up video game-like numbers combined, and the offense will definitely look different in 2024.

Once the season begins, Bills supporters are unlikely to be interested in what Diggs is doing with his new team, but hey, it’s the offseason and there isn’t much to talk about.

Stefon Diggs addresses the Bills for the hopefully final time at a press conference with the Texans.

Stefon Diggs spoke to Houston Texans fans for the first time since joining the defending AFC South winners. While it’s certainly odd that one of the league’s top wide receivers is now a member of the Texans, hearing him talk so much about his old team was disturbing.

While he did not trash the Bills, as many expected, it appeared that the majority of his news conference focused on his previous team rather than the team that traded for him. Of course, Diggs was asked about his prior team, but it would have been wonderful if he went the path of “The Bills are in the past, and I’m ready to move forward with my new team”

That being said, Diggs spent four years with the Bills and had a lot of success there. It’s hardly surprising that the media wants to know his thoughts on the move and whether he has any ill will toward his former team. Now that he’s mentioned it, perhaps we won’t hear about the Bills in any of Diggs’ future press conferences.

Hopefully, we’ve heard the end of Stefon Diggs discussing the Bills.
The Texans traded for Diggs, expecting he’d be the missing piece to help them reach the Super Bowl. Houston hasn’t been to a Super Bowl since the Texans joined the league in 2002, and while supporters have had high hopes for some of their teams, they have yet to reach an AFC Championship Game.

The hope is that with Diggs on board, C.J. Stroud can take an even bigger stride in his sophomore season, and the Texans can prove they’re worth all the hype.

Let us cross our fingers that the 2024 season will be memorable for Texans supporters.
