The Green Bay Packers will have their work cut out for them in the NFC North moving ahead. The 2024 season is expected to be a struggle between the Lions and the Packers for the top place. However, if the Vikings and Bears’ 2024 NFL Draft picks work out, all four clubs might be competitive in the near future.
A Carolina Panthers deal resulted in two top-10 draft picks for Chicago. One of those picks piqued the interest of a former Packers quarterback.
Former Green Bay Packers QB praises the Chicago Bears
When asked “how high of a ceiling does new Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze have,” Benkert responded:
Odunze, the ninth overall choice in the 2024 NFL Draft, is projected to play a significant part in the Bears’ offense. In March, the Bears acquired six-time Pro Bowler Keenan Allen from the Chargers. DJ Moore, the Bears’ number one receiver, will also be returning. With Odunze in the mix, the group becomes much more diverse and talented.
Odunze and Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams have already formed a close bond. Odunze showed off his skills to the rest of the Bears offense during veteran minicamp this week.
“Rome looks great,” Allen commented. “He’s a player that jumped in, has been with the ones from the start, and is running around very well. He knows his routes, what he’s doing, and what his obligations are, which is huge. We haven’t even started training camp yet, yet he already knows where to go, where to line up, and where to be. So it is significant.”
It will be interesting to see how much noise the Bears can make this season and moving future. Do they now have a franchise quarterback?
