News Now: Juventus Maintain Interest in Serie A Star Despite Luiz’s Imminent Arrival

Juventus are reportedly on the verge of agreeing on a convoluted swap deal with Aston Villa that will bring Douglas Luiz to Serie A. However, the Brazilian’s impending arrival will not discourage the Turin heavyweights from signing Atalanta talisman Teun Koopmeiners.

Koopmeiners has long been one of the club’s primary midfield goals. However, after getting close to signing Luiz, talks about the Dutchman’s move to the Allianz Stadium have stalled.

While many expected Juventus to lose interest in the 26-year-old, the two contracts are not mutually incompatible. According to Gianluca Di Marzio of TMW, they remain committed to signing Koopmeiners, regardless of their efforts to pull Luiz away from Villa Park.

As Juventus refuses to give up on bringing the Dutch star to Turin, frenzied speculation over Adrien Rabiot’s future continues to dominate headlines. The Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of this month, and he appears to be on the verge of leaving Piedmont.

Milan recently made touch with Rabiot’s management to express their interest. Though Juventus remains confident of persuading their vice-captain to commit his future to the club, talks with his mother-agent, Veronique, have stalled.

If Rabiot decides not to continue at Juventus, Koopmeiners’ arrival will make even more sense. Even if he signs a new contract, the Bianconeri’s interest in the former AZ Alkmaar playmaker remains strong.

New manager Thiago Motta would prefer to have all three talents at his disposal next season as Juventus seeks to return to the Scudetto picture after a frustrating four-year absence.
