Breaking News: The Bills’ GM had some interesting comments on Keon Coleman’s performance.

The Buffalo Bills are adjusting to life without Stefon Diggs and are expecting rookie second-round pick Keon Coleman to step up and fill the vacuum created by the superstar’s trade to the Houston Texans.
Many expect Coleman to become the WR1 sooner rather than later and quickly develop into Josh Allen’s primary option with Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel, and general manager Brandon Beane recently commented on Coleman’s progress thus far.

Beane was recently asked about Coleman’s progress, and he said, “I think Keon’s worked hard,” and noted how different college and NFL playbooks are, suggesting that “he’s gotta be involved in all phases of our offense,” after mentioning that there have been opportunities in the past to take plays off, particularly in the run game (via Dov Kleiman).

It wasn’t harsh criticism, as Beane noted that Coleman is a rookie and there will undoubtedly be bumps in the road, but the team expects a lot from him and will need him to deliver in all aspects of the game, especially the run game.

Coleman had 50 catches for 658 yards and 11 touchdowns last year at Florida State, which was enough for the Bills to choose him with the 33rd overall choice in the 2024 NFL draft.

Beane’s comments did not come off as unusual for a rookie, but it’s encouraging to hear that the club expects greatness from Coleman, since the team need it.
Coleman is the first in line to succeed Diggs, and he has enormous shoes to fill.
