Just Now: Brighton’make contact’ about signing Leeds United star targeted by Newcastle United and Chelsea.

Here, we pick up all of the most recent transfer stories that have arisen around Newcastle United and beyond:
Brighton is reportedly interested in signing Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville this summer. Summerville had a fantastic season for Daniel Farke’s side last season, but their inability to regain promotion to the Premier League casts question on his immediate future at Elland Road.

Summerville has been linked with Newcastle United, Chelsea, and Liverpool for some time, and West Ham has suddenly emerged as a potential suitor. The Amex Stadium’s stated interest could provide even more competition for the 21-year-old.

On Brighton’s interest in Summerville, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said on X: ‘Understand Brighton have made contact to begin talks on a Crysencio Summerville deal. It’s not an easy decision, with many clubs interested, but #BHAFC has begun preliminary discussions to investigate this option. Liverpool and Chelsea have been following him in recent months, but the race is still open.

Summerville contributed 31 goals throughout all competitions last season, scoring 21 and assisting on another 10. Newcastle United, meanwhile, may try to acquire an attacking player this summer, with someone who can play on the right wing likely to be considered.

Sunderland prodigy qualifies for professional contract.
Sunderland midfielder Chris Rigg has turned 17 and is now ready to sign his first professional contract with the club. Rigg played regularly for the Black Cats last season, but he has been linked with a move away from Wearside, with Newcastle United among those interested in signing him this summer.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City, as well as German clubs Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, have all expressed interest in the teenager. Rigg can move to another team if a transfer fee is agreed upon until he inks a new contract with Sunderland, which he is apparently delaying until the managerial situation at the Stadium of Light is resolved. Sunderland would be reimbursed through a tribunal if Rigg left at the end of his scholarship contract and moved elsewhere.
