News Now: Chelsea in negotiations with Atlético Madrid over £30 million-rated Samu Omorodion

Chelsea are looking for a new striker and have lined up Atlético Madrid’s Samu Omorodion as an option to Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán.
Omorodion, a 20-year-old forward on loan at Alavés, has been linked with both Atlético Madrid and Chelsea. He scored nine goals in 35 appearances last season and might cost more over £30 million.

Chelsea has been given permission to speak with Durán, who is valued at £40 million, but they are apprehensive about moving further with a move for the Villa striker. Durán’s wage demands are high, and Villa is reported to be concerned about his attitude.

Chelsea, who are also vying for Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, have unnamed attacking targets. They are interested in signing a striker with Premier League experience, but Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke is regarded to be out of their budget. Chelsea’s primary target is Benjamin Sesko, who is staying at RB Leipzig.

Chelsea’s new head coach, Enzo Maresca, does not want to start the season with Nicolas Jackson as his lone senior striker. Jackson performed admirably in his initial season at Stamford Bridge, but there is a desire to avoid putting too much pressure on the Senegal international. Chelsea will also have to decide what to do with David Datro Fofana, who has returned from a successful loan spell at Burnley, and they want to trade Armando Broja, who is coveted by Everton.

West Ham are discussing a transfer for Wolves defender Max Kilman. Julen Lopetegui is seeking for reinforcements at centre-back, and he knows Kilman from his time at Molineux. The Wolves captain is West Ham’s top target, although they have yet to make an offer for him. A £45 million proposal is expected to be sufficient to secure Kilman’s transfer, although Wolves are desperate to keep him.

Roy Keane criticizes Kylian Mbappé after bloody nose incident: ‘This is out of order’

Roy Keane insisted Kylian Mbappe was “out of order” after re-entering the pitch and sitting down immediately following France’s Euro 2024 victory against Austria.

The France captain, who scored the game’s sole goal, giving France a winning start to the tournament in Dusseldorf, was drenched in blood after his head collided with Austria defender Kevin Danso’s shoulder during an aerial tackle.

However, France coach Didier Deschamps was enraged when Spanish referee Jesus Gil Manzano refused to allow Les Bleus to make a substitution when the ball was next out of play.

Mbappe then re-entered the field of play with a bleeding jersey and sat back down, without permission from the officials. Manzano then charged over and booked the France captain, and former Manchester United captain Keane was displeased by Mbappe’s behavior.

“I don’t like seeing him sitting on the pitch, even if he’s trying to stop the play.” “This is not acceptable,” Keane told ITV Sport.

“Listen, whether he was told by the manager to return, received treatment, or came off. To come back on and sit on the pitch, he deserved that yellow card, which you don’t like to see!”

Gary Neville, also a pundit, agreed with his old teammate: “I think he [Mbappe] looks at Deschamps and he’s gone ‘get on’.”

“I think he’ll think he’s let himself down.”

Mbappe’s availability for France’s next encounter against the Netherlands on Friday is called into question after suffering a suspected fractured nose.

Mbappe’s evening had been mixed up until that time, with the star striker playing a major role in France’s only goal of the game, which deflected in off Austria defender Max Wober.

However, Mbappe, who will join Real Madrid on July 1, was unable to score his first goal at the European Championships after missing a wonderful opportunity to double France’s lead when placed through on goal.

France held on in Dusseldorf to win their first Euro 2024 match, joining the Netherlands on three points after defeating Poland in Group D. Les Blues will meet the Netherlands in Leipzig on Friday night.
