Orlando Pirates, DStv Premiership titans, have announced their new kit for the 2024/25 season on social media today.

The kit is similar to the one leaked last week on social media. The Orlando Pirates have confirmed that the leaked kit was the real deal.

“Yes, it is,” the Sea Robbers remarked in a video, before adding that the official debut date is July 22.

MAHLATSE MAKUDUBELA MOVES TO AZAM?
You can tell it’s a full transfer time. Former Orlando Pirates winger Mahlatse Makudubela is expected to quit Young Africans in Tanzania.

The 34-year-old from Vosloorus, Gauteng, left South Africa in July 2023 to join East African powerhouse Yanga. Despite garnering fan support, the former Orlando Pirates player struggled not earn a starting spot under Nasreddine Nabi and later Miguel Gamoundi.

According to the most recent reports, Makudubela has piqued the interest of fellow Tanzania Premier League team Azam.

“The 34-year-old ex-Platinum Stars star is now clubless after his Tanzanian team Young Africans (Yanga) elected not to renew his contract, which is set to expire

“According to reports from Tanzania, Yanga’s rivals Azam FC are interested in adding him to their roster. However, Yanga will face competition from APR FC, which has recently appointed Serbian Darko Novic as their new coach,” according to the report on the Buccaneer winger.

Patrick Maswanganyi of the Orlando Pirates received the largest paycheck of his career on Sunday. He earned R400,000 in one night at the 2024 Premier Soccer League Awards, thanks to his 10 goals and 12 assists in 40 games.

According to the PSL on Sunday night, the 25-year-old attacking midfielder won three major awards:

Players’ Player of the Season – R200,000
Midfielder of the Season – R50,000.
Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament: R150 000.
Meanwhile, the Sea Robbers are prepared to head to Spain for preseason, where they will face Sevilla in July.

“The Orlando Pirates Football Club is pleased to announce its Preseason schedule for 2024. The Mighty Buccaneers will return to Europe for a three-match tour in Spain, the club announced.

“Jose Riveiro’s men will begin their preseason campaign on July 12 against English Championship side Plymouth Argyle, before travelling to Seville on July 15 to face La Liga outfit Sevilla.”

“Then to round up the tour, the back-to-back MTN8 and Nedbank Cup champs will lock horns with Qatar Stars League outfit Al Sadd SC on July 19,” explained the Pirates.
