JUST NOW: Three Browns defensive tackles are rumored to be traded.

With NFL training camps beginning next month, teams across the league will attempt to address roster openings through trades, as few free players of consequence remain available.

Teams looking for defensive tackles may consider the Cleveland Browns as a potential trade partner.

Cleveland has a well-stocked defensive tackle room, with eight talented athletes at the position.

According to Logan Ulrich of NFL Trade Rumors, defensive tackles Quinton Jefferson, Maurice Hurst II, and Shelby Harris are three potential trade targets for clubs looking to improve their interior defensive line.

“The Browns are deep at defensive tackle as well edge rusher, and it’s also possible a tackle who won’t make their team is good enough to contribute to another squad and bring back some trade value,” Ulrich told ESPN.

Indeed, Cleveland was well-stocked at the position before to acquiring second-round pick Mike Hall Jr. and seventh-round prospect Jowon Briggs in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The newcomers join a veteran group led by Dalvin Tomlinson.

Harris joined the Browns in 2023 and appeared in 17 games last season.

The 10-year veteran has appeared in 115 NFL games and, at 32, is expected to compete for a starting position this season.

Hurst is 29 years old and has appeared in 55 games over the past six years owing to injury.

Jefferson, the newest of these three veterans, is a 31-year-old journeyman playing for his sixth team in nine years.

Last season, Jefferson appeared in 14 games for the New York Jets and recorded six sacks.
