NEWS NOW: Kansas player announced his permanent departure from the team to West Contender.

Klay Thompson Is Reportedly Interested In Joining West Contender

Klay Thompson’s time with the Golden State Warriors is officially over, according to almost everyone involved.

The 34-year-old feels slighted by team officials for his role in four NBA championships, and it may be time to seek greener pastures.

According to NBA Central and The Stein Line, there is widespread consensus within the league that Thompson’s long-term relationship with the Warriors has been permanently harmed.

With free agency approaching, speculation regarding Thompson’s potential destination is wild.

Sources believe Thompson and the Dallas Mavericks are interested in each other, and a move might occur when free agency begins on Sunday.

When a player has spent 13 seasons with the same club, it is a strong indicator of productivity and mutual regard.

However, Thompson’s era with Golden State is soon coming to an end, and Stephen Curry’s backcourt mate will most likely be a different player when the next season begins.

Despite undoubtedly losing a step as he enters his mid-30s, Thompson appears to still have a lot to give an NBA team.

He averaged 17.9 points per game last season, as his shot total declined from previous seasons, his lowest average production since the 2012-13 season.

In an ideal world, players would be recruited by a team and, depending on their performance, play long careers before dedicated supporters, retiring in the same uniform they joined the league with.

However, Thompson will presumably miss out on the fairy tale conclusion.
